Since classes and exams have finished, I've been getting back into painting. I used to paint
all the time when I was at school, and I even went to art college after finishing my GCSEs (I left after a couple of months to go to sixth form so I could get into university instead), but I haven't really done much since leaving home, so I picked up some basic watercolours and some metallic and neon acrylic paints from Ryman's a couple of weeks ago.
I've just been painting and drawing random things so far, but from today I've decided to paint one specific portrait or landscape each day (these will probably almost always be portraits, as I'm mostly inspired by beautiful editorials or street style photos): today's painting comes courtesy of Lookbook.
I was drawn to the clashing prints (monochrome spots and stripes being especial favourites of mine) but particularly to the gorgeous yellow coat. I'd recently bought a fantastic neon acrylic paint, so thought this would be the perfect image to crack it open for.
Media used:
Watercolour paints in Lemon Yellow, Crimson Red, Prussian Blue and Burnt Umber
Acrylic paints in Indescent Gold, Indescent Silver and Lemon Yellow
This painting is amazing! I came across it while checking out Flavia D.'s blog. I also checked out your other ones and love them too. You are good at what you do. I can't wait to see what else you paint. ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you take requests? I would love if you would paint one of my outfits from my blog, You Like It? I Made It!. I hope you do. ;)

ReplyDeleteI do indeed take requests! You can either let me know which outfit you'd like me to paint, or I could choose my favourite if you'd prefer! :) Thank you again!
