Paintings Update #6

Striped Dress, print available here (£15) // Breton & Coral, print available here (£15)

Just a little update today; I have more new paintings, but I stupidly left them at my mum's house when I went home last week and forgot to scan them! She's posting them back to me though, so I'll hopefully be able to share them with you next Sunday - I know the anticipation is almost too much to bear. ;)

Paintings Update #4

Herve Leger // Faith Connexion // Alexander McQueen

Just a little update today; I haven't had much time for painting during the last couple of weeks, as my boyfriend has been up to stay with me for a while! Whenever he's here I like to spend as much time with him as possible because we're living in different towns at the moment, which is very different to what we're used to! I also work every evening, during my most productive time, so that's a bit frustrating!

Amazing news on the painting front though - I've made my first sale in my Etsy shop! I sold an A4 print, and the buyer was interested in buying a couple more so I'm super happy about that! Any money that I make from selling my art is going straight back into making more art, so I'm eyeing up some new paintbrushes as the ones I have at the moment are really cheap and keep shedding hairs - I think I'll just recycle them and use them for glue or nail polish instead!

Paintings Update #3

I've been fairly busy this week painting-wise; I've finished off one portrait that's been lingering a while, and got a good headstart on a new mini series I'm doing: iconic fashion pieces! I really enjoy doing these, they're super simple but super effective (in my opinion!) - basically just repetitions of one single item of clothing or accessory. I think my favourite is the Alexander McQueen skull clutch one; some of them still need details adding though, but I've ran out of glitter! Tomorrow's plan is to head to Ryman's and restock my glitter collection, and also see what they have in the way of metallic marker pens - I remember in primary school my teacher had some really cool ones that you shook before you wrote with them, does anyone know if you can still get these/what they're called??

Paintings Update

A while ago I said that I'd started up painting again, and that I'd post a new painting every day on my blog - that clearly didn't last! Not because I haven't been doing any more paintings, but because I thought it would perhaps clog up my blog a little bit for people who aren't really that interested in art. Instead, I thought I would do a weekly/fortnightly round up of what I've been painting lately.
